	Description - Speaking with Aquatarium visitors and providing valuable and educational information about our experiences to engage and inspire curiosity about our diverse region. - Helping to maintain a clean and organized facility. - Working as a team member with fellow staff and volunteers. Assisting with special events.
	Goal The Aquatarium Is Seeking High Energy-Outgoing Individuals Who Enjoy Working With People And Groups Of Children And/Or Adults. The Focus Of This Position Will Be To Aid In Facilitating Learning On Our Exhibit Floor Through Guest Interactions As Well As Supporting Program Facilitators In Their Daily Tasks. The Program Is Open To Those 14 Years And Older. We Encourage Students, College/Grad Students, Adults And Retirees To Get Involved. All Are Welcome! From Hands-On Interactive Exhibits To Personal Encounters With Native Wildlife, The Aquatarium Seeks To Inspire A Passion For Learning And Engage Visitors In The Distinctive History, Culture And Environment Of The 1000 Islands. Share Your Knowledge And Passion About The 1000 Islands & St. Lawrence Region With Visitors And Assist At Events And Education Programs. As A Volunteer, You Will Have The Opportunity To Meet Individuals From Around The World And Join A Family Of Fellow Volunteers, Staff, And Animal Husbandry Experts Who Share A Passion For The Natural Wonders Of Our Region.
	Position Qualifications Our volunteer program is open to all! The Aquatarium will take all reasonable steps to ensure accommodation in accordance with provincial legislation for any volunteers with temporary or permanent disabilities. The program coordinator will work closely with volunteers to explore solutions for reasonable accommodation when a volunteer faces a barrier to access or participation as a result of a disability. Min Age: 14 Police Check: Yes COVID-19 Vaccination Required: Yes
	Time Commitment Duration:3 - Medium Term (4 - 6 months) Due Date:2024-07-04 Weekday - Daytime, Weekend - Daytime Days and shifts are flexible however the minimum shift is 2 hours. We are looking for people who are willing to make a weekly commitment. Shift availability is subject to change based on need throughout the year.
	Training - Good verbal communication skills. - Experience working with children or adults in a group setting.
