CNIB
The CNIB Foundation was created April 1, 2017 to offer programs that complement and enhance our rehab services by addressing the social and emotional needs of people with sight loss, and building their confidence and self-advocacy skills to ensure they receive the accommodations they need to succeed. Programs focus on children and youth, as well as adults of working age and seniors.
Entirely dependent on charitable funding, the Foundation initially offers upgraded programs that were previously offered by our vision loss rehabilitation team. We are also introducing a number of new programs as we are able. We have begun by offering activities where we have locations and staff, however our plan is to expand to additional communities as we identify volunteers, partnerships and donors to cover the costs. In the fall of 2017, we will begin reaching out to local communities and creating partnerships to support that growth.
